Greenkeeping Update with Greg 24/7/2017

With Club Championship this coming weekend, our work will focus on getting the course in the best possible condition for this event.
This will simply involve regular mowing to all areas to present the surfaces at their best, with other tasks being carried out to provide the finishing touches. This will include checking and sanding up all bunkers, distance markers being painted and course signage atrimmed and cleaned up amongst other things.
As there is little more to tell this week, I read an excellent article recently about green speed. Whilst most people are now educated enough to understand the importance of well managed greens, there are still some courses looking satisfy their vanity by boasting ‘the fastest greens’.
