GOLF TIP OF THE WEEK

Putting Drills:

Hi Everyone, hope you have had a great week!

This week I’m going to show you a few simple putting drills to help you hole more putts.

Putting accounts for approximately 43% of your total shots in a round of golf, so the more shots you can save the better!

Round the clock:

Simply place 8 coins around the hole, about 3 feet away from the hole in a circle. Pick your starting point and work your way around. Each putt is going to break slightly differently so this drill helps with alignment and green reading. Keep working round until you hole all 8 in a row without missing.

Bin Lid Lag Putting:

Draw out a circle around the hole with coins/tees approximately 3 feet away from the hole.

Place tee’s about 15, 20 and 25 feet away from the hole. The idea of this drill is to work on distance control. From these distances you’re never going to be far away with your direction (a couple of feet maximum normally). However, it is very easy to leave these putts 10 ft short or 10 ft long. This drill will help with consistent distance control.
