Update with Luke 28/8/18

With the Ryder cup a little over a month away the teams are getting nearer to being complete. With 2 weeks until the top 8 for europe is confirmed, The USA decided to name their first 8 players a few days ago.
World number 1 Dustin Johnson was there first pick with Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas, Bubba Watson, Rickie Fowler. Masters champion Patrick Reed and 3 time major winner Brooks Koepka make the team as well as a surprising qualification for Webb Simpson.

This Ryder Cup promises to be one of the best with both USA and Europe teams looking very strong. It appears it will come down to the strength of the 4 captains picks as these will have a huge role to play. Jim Furyk will have a difficult decision as he has to pick 4 players from a huge list of great players with several majors between them such as: Phil Mickelson, Tiger Woods, Xander Schauffle, Kevin Kisner, Patrick Cantlay, Bryson DeChambeau, Tony Finau, Matt Kuchar, Brian Harman, Zach Johnson, Charlie Hoffman, Gary Woodland and Kyle Stanley.

Although Europe have not made a final pick on their last 8 players, Thomas Bjorn has a very difficult choice with whoever misses out.
Francesco Molinari, Justin Rose, Tyrrell Hatton, Tommy fleetwood, Jon Rahm and Rory Mcilroy are exected to make the top 8 however the last 2 spaces are very much up for grabs. Currently they are occupied by Alex Noren and Ian Poulter. However, Paul Casey, Thorbjorn Olesen, Russell Knox and Rafa Cabrera Bello are hoping to oust some of them.
Whoever misses out will have a great chance of getting through as Thomas’s wildcard pick.
Some of the names that will also be battling for a Ryder cup pick are: Henrik Stenson, Sergio Garcia, Matt Fitzpatrick, Paul Dunne, Ross Fisher.
