We reached the time of year when the course really comes to life and also when all the wildlife is at it's most prolific. In this months update, we will take a look at the interesting things going on around the course at Hunley and in the greenkeeping department.

Finally April saw a change in the weather, although the first two weeks still carried on wet and cold with nearly 4 inches of rain falling. The second part of the month was much improved with dry and warm weather dominating. We are not the only ones grateful for the improved weather either, with all the many species of wildlife at Hunley much happier and more active.

It’s hard to remember a winter that has been as severe as this one. Over the last 23 weeks there have been only 19 dry days, with only 8 of those getting above 3 degrees celsius.

February has been a continuation of this winters trend of weather patterns. Cold spells followed by wet spells followed by cold spells have really tested our resolve as a greenkeeping team.
